Mpox Project
KekanaLab is currently developing a mathematical modelling framework to better understand the transmission dynamics of Mpox and evaluate factors driving its spread in affected communities. Our work focuses on building data-informed SEIR-type models, integrating behavioral, demographic, and mobility patterns, and assessing the potential impact of public health interventions, including vaccination, awareness strategies, and early case Detection.
This project aims to generate predictive insights and scenario analyses
that can support government agencies and health organizations in designing effective, evidence-based responses to Mpox outbreaks.
